Function integration individual lesson

Feldenkrais® private sessions are known as Functional Integration® (FI®) lessons. In Functional Integration, the teacher guides an individual student in movement lessons using gentle, non-invasive touch as the primary means of communication.

Group classes Awareness Through Movement

Awareness Through Movement® (ATM): ATM lessons are explorations of movement verbally directed by a teacher, usually in a group class. The lessons may be done lying down, standing, or sitting, but most often are done on a mat on the floor in a variety of positions. Each lesson explores a sequence of movements related to such fundamental functions as rolling, reaching, folding, bending and twisting, to name a few. The teacher guides the students' attention to sensation to help them develop better body awareness and discover easier, more expansive ways of moving, which can then be carried over into everyday life.

How was the Feldenkrais Method®  Developed?

Moshe Feldenkrais, D.Sc. (1904-1984) was an engineer, physicist, and judo master.  Drawing on his extensive scientific and martial arts background as well as linguistics, biology, child development and athletics, Dr. Feldenkrais avoided surgery and taught himself to walk without pain after a severe knee injury.  This was the spark that launched the development of the Feldenkrais Method®.

Feldenkrais was a groundbreaking teacher of human potential and mind-body development.  His revolutionary system of mind and body "re-education" for stressed and dysfunctional brains and bodies has achieved miraculous results for thousands around the world.  He believed that what kept most people from fulfilling their potential was their own resistance-contradictory motivation that is so habitual as to no longer even be felt. Once we can cast away our resistance  we become better managers of our own motivation, action is unhesitating and the impossible becomes possible.

Each person must find his own way of working-the key is finding what works for you.  The Method® is unique in that the optimal way is what works for you and not dependent on any other modeling.  Each person is their own greatest authority. It's simply a matter of finding it. The Method® helps you do that through the ingenious lessons that Feldenkrais devised.

What is Diamond Light Reiki?

The Usui system of Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is an ancient Oriental, natural hands-on healing method that is simple to learn and utilize. Reiki is a Japanese word, which means universal life energy. Practitioners of Reiki transfer this energy to themselves and others by the resting of hands on the body of the receiver. Once you have been opened up to become a channel for Reiki, concentrated life energy will flow through your hands on its own accord.

Reiki can be used on oneself as well as to assist others.

It can be used on plants and animals. Holistic in nature, Reiki heals on all levels of existence-the physical, the emotional, and the spiritual and strives to bring them into balance.

Hands-on healing. Private sessions of 1/2 hour, 1 hour and 1-1/2 hours are available.

Become a Reiki healer. Three levels of initiation are available:

  • Reiki Level I – Two transmissions of Reiki symbols enable you to treat yourself and others by the laying on of hands.

  • Reiki Level II – You will receive four additional initiations and learn symbols, how to activate distant healing, mental reprogramming, and emotional release for self-treatment and assisting others.

  • Reiki Level III – Powerful transmission of all Reiki symbols receiving the power of a master. Additional training in healing, meditation, and energy work will be taught.

  • Mastership – tailored to the individual student who is seriously interested in healing and teaching. An interview is necessary for this program.
